Is there any reason why I couldn't install heavy gauge black malleable pipe to bs1387 instead of generic electric conduit to BS4568 where greater impact resistance is required?

Assuming of course the pipe was identified as such.
 
If a cable is at risk of that sort of weight hitting it, it shouldn't be within reach of the weight.

I doubt black iron pipe would resist that weight either.
It would be easy enough to test it before hand.

It seems like it needs a piece of RSJ burying in concrete in front of the conduit.
