Anyone having issues with the notifications?

We've had a handful of reports recently about the notifications doing something funky when you try to view them. If you're having any problems with the notifications please post below and tell us exactly what's happening in your case and please give us some info about;

What browser are you using?
What version is your browser?
Are you on a PC, laptop or mobile device?
What operating system?

Also describe the problem, what happens and how often it happens etc. When did it start happening and does it persist if you try an alternative browser.

I have to tap a couple of times to get them to open up.
Just using the safari that came with the iPad.

Ive noticed that ive got two Quates, and when i click on them (top right hand corner) i get logged out.

Is it just the quotes notifications or is it also PM and likes notifications as well?

I just cleared them on my phone
But it was on chrome 44.0.2403.125 on Zorin 9 a.Ubuntu system

I'm using safari on iPad, I have to click certain things twice as well, when I click the 'view first unread' at the top, it disappears, but if I click on it again in the space it was then it works lol

Same fault as DuaneMHunt1976.
Works with likes but when trying to click on the quotes drop down it tries to send you to this address:
"http://www.electriciansforums.co.uk/usertag.php?do=profilenotif&tab=quotes"
(not sure if this will get modified in posting)
and states you need to log in to gain access to this page.

I to am on Google Chrome so it seems it may be an issue with their browser.
I am on version 43.0.2357.132 m but it is about to update.
Windows XP PC.

Still happening for me in both Firefox 41.0.1 and IE 11.0.23 under W7. Clicking on the 'new post quote' notification takes me to an endless cycle of login pages, I never get to see the quotes. I can jump to some other part of the forum without completing the login and I am still logged in. I can see the quotes via the profile tab but visiting that tab doesn't clear the notification.

Notification for 'likes received' works normally though.

It seem fairly widespread although it's not happening to me (Opera browser). I've emailed Dan and hopefully we'll get a visit and he can sort it out.

I am have a notification saying new quote when I open it I get logged out.

It took me a while to post on here I keep getting told I do not have permission and told to refresh the page I then get logged out again.
I have also lost access to the arms and have lost my avatar and unable download any pictures!

Not sure if it is all linked or due to lack of posting in recent months

I'm having the very same problem when I try to open a new post quote - it logs me out. But 'likes' open fine with no issues.

I get that and i have to use IE to clear it... i am mostly on LINUX OS system.
Only my works laptop has Windows 10 on it.
I can just clear them with my Phone tho.

I am up to 84 quoted posts now, very irritating!

It says I have notifications ( 6 now, was 4) when I tap on them it logs me out, takes me to a login screen, when I try to log back in from there it has none of it, I have to press back on my browser and log-in again

this is on safari, on the latest iOS

Jase I know it's a pain but if you click the remember me box when you log in then it doesn't log you out, I know it needs sorting but at least it solves the immediate issue.

Had a problem with the post quotes notifications think it was when they were first introduced clicked and they disapeared cleared my cookies and all is fine.
using chrome and windows 7

Dan was around a few days ago and made a comment about this issue in the staff area. He might have made some changes. Whatever happened, I'm glad your 91 post quotes notification is now gone Richard.

I think you will find the credit needs to come this way lol, an easy way to test it Richard is not to click on the remember me box and see if it still works.

OK tested and credit to GMES.
If I have ticked remember me on log in then the quotes notification works as it should.
If i have not ticked remember me on log in and click the quotes notification and it takes me to the log in screen then ticking remember me at that point as I log in logs me back in, take me to the quotes and clears the notification.

Thanks GMES, that "remember me" tick box has done the trick for me too.
Was getting logged out all the time, now it's perfect.
