Does anyone know what the cable in the picture is called? Or anything about it?

Labelling on the outside is “E SPC Electric Cable 600/1000v”

Its an odd one, looks like SWA. When you look inside it only has one core used for the live conductor. Then it has a load of black insulated strands that have been used for the neutral and 3 thicker uninsulated copper cores used for the cpc.

Normally used by power companies to come from street to cut out in property.

If it’s been used as a distribution circuit, must have been a spare bit lying around….
Or the bit in the pic has lost its cut out and floating around live and dangerous. ⚡⚡

Perfect thanks all, exactly what I needed.

Its been used for a distribution circuit in this case, tested up ok and rcd protected so i’m happy with it.

The only time that is used is if you have a friendly meter man, he will gladly give you a few spare meters of it after he has just hooked up an iffy connection for you or moved a meter no questions asked.
