Hi,

Im in the first year of 2330 electrical course, and will soon be looking for a placement.

Just wondering how long placements tend to last for?

Is it until I finish in college after my third year?

Thanks

hello there, i am in my first year of 2330 course to, the job will last until you are sacked or bored....in other words you wont lose your job after you have finished the course

Not strictly true. The way the economy is at the moment, if who you working for runs out of work then you may get made redundant. If this should happen, your training provider will try and help you to find another job, but there's no guarantee that they will be able to. Anyway, you have four weeks to find another job if you do get made redundant. After the four weeks, if you've not found another job, then you get put off the apprenticeship program / college course. - I know this, coz this has just happened to me, and there's not much chance of finding another employer the way things are. I got another three weeks and then it shelf staking as a Xmas temp or perhaps a career in the fast food industry, asking if people would like frigging fries with that!
