IMPORTANT: Please note that nobody on this forum should be seeking or providing advice to people who are not competent in their field. If you live in a country where electrical advice is only to be shared between professional qualified electricians, then clearly you need to abide by those laws and regulations. They're there for a reason. ElectriciansForums.net will not be held liable for actions taken based on advice sought on this forum. Each and every person reading threads on this forum will need to follow their local laws. Do NOT seek or provide advice to those who should not be touching electrics! - Lives are at stake here. Not just light switches being moved etc.

hi, what is an ideal length for an electrician/ solar fibreglass extension ladder ?
Take a look at the roof you need to access, estimate the distance from the ground.
use Pythagoras to calculate the hypotenuse after working out how far the foot of the ladder needs to be away from the building(adjacent).

this will give you the minimum ladder height required for the job.

Alternatively, buy a triple extension ladder for the big jobs and a shorter one for the easy jobs??

and bear in mind that in Australia, gravity works backwards. you can't falloff a ladder, but could be wafted upwards to destruction. that's why you have safety harnesses.

A six tread fibre glass for domestic will get you most places. Backed up with three way ladder that gives you 4m high access (fibre glass of course) Outside of that, you will be using a tower, or being dangerous.

Do Australian houses have similar ceiling heights to us? Are they single storey or double? I seem to remember when I used to watch neighbours they were mostly single storey. Perhaps Erinsborough isn't typical though?

in australia, ground floor built by 12.00 noon. time for a beer. foreman says just bung a low roof on it. hence the word bungalow.
