Hi,

i have projector voltage is 110-240v and max power 300w what will be the consumption of power in one hour and what is the load it requires.

Thanks & regards

1000w is about 4.2 amps at 230v
so about 1.3 amps
cost to run at say10p per kwh
about 3.5p an hour/84p for 24 hours
basicly not very much
hpoe this helps

Mark, could you please explain where the 1.3 amp comes from?
and also the 3.5p an hour?.

Thanks

He's basically simplified calculation by using the figure of 1000w and then used the % of 300w from 1000w thus being 30%. 30% of 4.2amp is 1.3amp.

Hey Dan.

the 1.3 A is the current used by the 300W load in the original example - 300W/230V - 1.3A, power triangle.

Then divide 1 kwh by the 300W load to get a sum of 3.33p per hour roghly rounded up to 3.5p.

Hope this helps.

Ne bother.

It is amazing though how much we were taught and how much we actually use in day to day life. Forgetting it is a dam sight easier than learning it ever was and trying to remember it again is even worse.

Cheers.
