afternoon everyone

got a problem described to me by a friend and havent been to look at it

basically they have a electric gate with sensors and when you go through them lights and a fountain switch on for 15mins well would if they worked lol

they are telling me the sensors work as they can hear a click when they walk past, they also tell me theres an overide button which makes them work

would this be a contactor fault not really done any work with them

i havent been to look at it and i never wired it so cant help there

any ideas people

Well if the sensor is operating the contactor as they say it is (by hearing it)
It may well be the timer not activating when powered up via the contactor but until you have a look at it could be anythink.

the contactor may be operating by the sensor switching the coil, however there may be MCBs in the control panel which supply juice to the gates throught the contactor poles and they may have tripped, just a thought

as its a quite a drive and in middle of no where think il get them to send pic of the box all this is in and then take a contactor and timer with me saves me going back
