Watched a programme the other night on metal theft,it said that the high price of scrap copper was due to the amount of work going on in china, using a lot of cable. Now given that E54 has been out there for ages this must mean he is indirectly responsible,if he wasn't installing so much then they wouldnt be pinching it as bad as they are,so now when your electric goes off at least you can curse someone E54 lol.

Only joking mate but it's funny what pops into your head at times:):):):):):) maybe when you've finished they'll come over there and nick it back.

It's probably true too!! The amount of building work going on over here is phenomenal, not just in the city i'm in but literary everywhere!! The trouble being is that the Chinese building Reg's here aren't to clever, they are improving year on year, but it's still pretty hit and miss!! lol!! A 5 year old building can easily look as if it's been up 30+ years...

Aye but at least its a wage mate.

Another thing that still manages to catch my eye, even after all the years of seeing it, is the amount of women on these building sites. Mainly labourers, but seen plenty of women scaffolders (all bamboo in Asia) and plumbers/pipe fitters etc!! How many women have you seen, carrying over sized hods full of muck up scaffold ladders. lol!!

No!! But there was in the building behind it!! What they must be thinking is anyone's guess!! lol!!

No-one in fact was even hurt in this collapse, they were excavating the buildings underground car parking area at the time. Evidently the building gave the workers some warnings in the way of very loud cracking sounds, before it fell backwards!! lol!!

I guess they've got to have a few fall over before they realise it's worth having proper regs and controls.

Here is a roughly translated explanation of the cause!! By the way the building didn't come crashing down. It slowly fell backwards over a couple of hours, only at the very last moment when the building was more than halfway down, did it come down with a crash!! I'm pretty impressed that the thing held together to be honest!!! lol!!

I was amazed to see how bits of rope and wood could be strapped around a building going 40 floors up. You have to see it to believe how strong bamboo really is....................

Supposedly stronger than conventional steel scaffolding!! Not sure about that, but the use of bamboo is certainly a more appropriate material to use in Asia. Steel scaffolding can't cope with the daily expansion and contraction, and get too bloody hot to touch in the height of summer!! lol!!

It's not rope they use to bind the bamboo poles together, it's actually woven bamboo strands!!!
You have to see this stuff being erected and dismantled, far better than seeing the completed system!! lol!!
