Hi, hope someone can answer my question.
I have recently installed a new bathroom, the bath is steel, and i have no electrical appliances or points in the bathroom, except for the lights of course.
When i had the old floor up i noticed that one of the water pipes was clamped and a cpc runs downstairs to the cu. Basically do i need to cross bond the pipework for the bathtub and the washbasin..? Thanks for any reply.

Try and run the supp bond from the bathroom lighting cpc as well to ensure that everything is buzzing off the same hymn sheet, or maybe change the upstairs lighting mcb for an rcbo. If you've already fitted the bath etc I guess the last thing you want to do is rip up the floor and walls !!

Hi mc497, wot your seeing is dating back to the old regs probably 15th edition where supplementary bonding used to have to go back to the CU. If your not gonna RCD protect the lighting circuit, disconnect the wire going back to the CU and cross bond the pipe work, the bath and the cpc in the light to avoid any potential difference in the bathroom and also to stop any earth faults from any other circuits that are going back to the CU from going into the bathroom.
