Hello all,

Regarding a dedicated circuit not on an rcd (such as a dedicated fridge/freezer circuit), are the options to either bury the cable more than 50mm inside a wall or alternatively fix the cable on the surface ?

I'm just trying to get my head around it.

We have a large commercial tumble dryer tripping an rcbo, so I was thinking about doing away with the rcbo and running a dedicated circuit just for the tumble dryer.

Cheers

if the cable passes though plaster (unless 50mm deep or more) then it has to go though an RCD. so the options are suface or more than 50mm really. you should also ensire that it is a single socket and labeled for use only with that appliance.

is it when the dryer first kicks in???
as its and RCBO it could be the motor causing the RCBO to trip, maybe try a C type see if thats any better
