Hi all,

My first posting here and i need some advice

I have a dewalt 18 v drill and it has packed up.

I have stripped it back bare cleaned and checked out the brushes and motor, all seems ok.
Also the battery charger and batterys test out fine with 18 v there.
That led me to think the switch isnt working , but that seems ok as i rigged up a separate 18v supply and the motor on the drill ran ok ??
But when i attach the drills own batterys nothing happens. The batterys are new and the drill is in very good condition and hasnt had much use, trouble is there is no gaurantee.
I have sourced a new switch but i dont want to buy yet until certain that is the fault.

cheers

James

When you rigged up temp did you use the drill battery? If so check the continuity from the drill battery contacts to the switch, if these are OK check the continuity across the switch.

check the contacts where the battery connects to the drill, you know just up the handle?this happened to a mates hilti and they just needed bending out slightly.
