I have ebm papst r2e... fan. 230v 3mf 0.51a 400vdb. It has 8 wires coming out. I am using it to replace old fan in my miele dryer. old fan had 4 wires, similar specs, black, brown, blue and ground. so its working and start coils and neutral. New motor has 8 wires, ground, white, black, yellow, brown, red, grey, blue. Blue and yellow are in continuity. I guess this one have more diff speeds. does someone knows wiring for this motor, how to find start and working coil and neutral. i tried meassuring ohms but cant figure it out from numbers i got.

EBM Papst usually have a wiring diagram inside the lid of the electrical connection box. Failing that you should be able to download the spec sheet from their website which has a wiring diagram within. If all else fails post the complete model number of the fan and maybe someone will find it for you. Whatever you do don't guess, the colour codes used within the fan itself don't follow recognised wiring colours, ie green or yellow is often used as supply colours and blue/black is not neutral.

Thx for reply, i succeeded. Turns out that on this single phase multi speed motor you need to place capacitor between yellow and brown and close circuit that way, no phase just capacitor. So i removed cap from dryer installation and put it on motor. Blue is neutral and the rest of them is for diff speed. I used black for phase as it seems to be highest speed.
