Could be a loop in & loop out system ! The DNO have done this on a few areas to save money, i have the same system in my house.

Kung, do the DNO display any warning signs/labels etc when they do this? Any chance that you could take a photo or two so that we are able to see the configuration?

The only labels are the norm earth ones mate ! bit dodgy esp as the neybour is a childminder and had to ask when shes out so i can discon her cpc to do my IR test ! by the way the two cpc's were terminated on an earth block next to my CU.

Thanks for that....It is very conceivable that the main earth could be removed, say for Ze testing, and subsequent CCU change, or re-wire for example....Even for a short duration, i.e. a matter of minutes could leave the properties who are reliant upon the looped earth vulnerable.
