Had my annual visit this morning, now I'm fairly confident in my abilities and technical knowledge so why do I get so stressed about it?

For anyone expecting theirs it was a case of ZE's, building regs, Part L and F and a discussion of the new ammendment. Passed with an A so waste of time worrying about, still glad it's over for another year. :hurray:

I think it's pretty stressful regardless of who you're with. I dread my NIC one each year and always wonder why after the event as once the inspector is onsite it's usually a friendly, stress free affair.

I had my annual elecsa assessment this morning too...

Last year it didn't get to me at all, but this morning my backside were'nt half twitching, I sat on the loo until he rang my door bell.

Again I don't know why I was worried, I had no no conformances, straight A. I asked him plenty of questions too which he liked

I also asked him about periodic coding, as I always like to hear other views on what code to give.

I asked his views on coding bs3036 fuses protecting socket outlets. He said you need to have knowledge of the 15th & 16th edition regs and that if an install was done to the 15th edition say and sockets were not RCD protected then it would just be a code 4 as it wasn't a safety concern at the time of install.

But if it was a 16th or 17th edition install that wasn't RCD protecting socket outlets then it would be a 2 as these would have been required under that version of the wiring regs.

I see what he's saying but still baffles me and doesn't quite make sense, what difference does it make what edition of the regs it was installed to?

I'd still like to here people's views on coding socket outlets not protected by an RCD and there reasoning.

Sockets not protected by RCD's likely to supply portable equipment outdoors I have always coded 2, any other socket has been a 4 if not on an RCD

But maybe it's time to change my coding tactics??
