We turned up today to second fix a kitchen today and the fitter was still there. Anyway I asked him where his van was as he had a hire van parked on the drive for a change. Anyway, he went on to explain how his electric cigarette charger caught fire on Friday in the cab. Just want to highlight the potential risks to anyone who uses these or may know someone who uses these. I'll let the news article explain the rest.

i bet it was an aftermarkert 12v charger he used. they normally come with a usb charger and 3pin plug.

i grabbed a belkin charger a couple years ago and no problems here

most of the problems have been with cheap chargers that the manufacturers don't recommend.

Yeah I'd agree with that, it's the same with all electronics though there's lots of cheap replacements available on eBay and the like
