can anyone advise me on electrical heating, I have a small flat there no gas.
it is being renovated so i think i will install underfloor heating in the kitchen and lounge (tiled floors) but i don't think it will give enough heat. just wondered witch heaters give the best output for running costs.

Storage heaters are normally installed when there is no gas.

I dont think dry underfloor heating systems would be enough to heat a whole flat.

how much would it cost to get an off peak meter, I have Eco7 could I just use a timer with a storage heater and run radials off my mains board

Best thing to do is contact your electricity supplier for costs on off peak meters as each installation will vary.

There are a couple of different ways this can be done.

Only thing is, the cost of the heaters themselves can be quite expensive.

Storage Heaters Electric

Hi,

Electric underfloor heating is what I do.

Whether it would be enough to provide primary heat will depend on the heat loss of your home.

If you've got some details of the floor finishes and type of construction of the building, we can probably advise if electric ufh would be enough. Measurements of the ares you wish to heat would also be useful.

If you'd like some advice PM me.

Warm Regards,

Peter

thanks rich i will get some details
I have spoken to a plumber on site today have any of you seen an electric boiler in the past any, any idea how good they are.

i saw an elec boiler today 1st one ive seen 11kw single phase to run under floor heating. tiny looking unit about 150mmx150mmx1200mm and this is to provide all heat in 3 rooms total area about 12mx4m

There is a very similar system used in a block of Housing Association flats that I do work in, a Electric "Super Heater" used to supply Radiators in small 1/2 bedroom flats. They seem to be very troublesome tho and these ones require a 6mm feed to them.
