Now I've calmed down a bit ? I fluffed the I&T side of the assessment, I know I shouldn't have, I mean I had GN3 right ----ing there and was referencing it.

Safe isolation I forgot the last prove,

R1+R2 on the ring/radial I had a complete fart; linked put the board and just couldn't remember the next step on the sockets, at all!

IR testing I initially did wrong and even when I redid it, I ended up on 250v, not 500v. I was aiming to do 250V IR then up to 500v

----er got me on the motor circuit too, I asked if it was wired correctly, was told yes then even when testing I missed the link he added in, that he told us about, well if you've wired it correctly that link wouldn't be there would it you trumpet! Didn't help that my head was expecting control circuit to be fed from neutral, not L1

The constantly having to repeat tests because the assessor didn't see them ----ed me off and made me loose focus more than once and then there's 50 ----ing questions; like stfu and let me concentrate man!

Hopefully I can pull it back on fault finding but I doubt it. Saying that redoing the level 3 wouldn't be a bad thing I mean COVID has really ----ed up learning.

Had the gall to say my tester (1730) was part of the problem and spouted the 'youve had plenty of chance to play on the rigs' speil, I haven't been on them much, probably my own fault, I didn't go in expecting to pass all cock of the walk like but ---- me, didn't expect the ------- to stop it.

Just sharing this to show I'm not infallible, sure I know my books and random shits and LOOK like I know my ---- but .---- me I still get squeaky bum time on tests. I can give excuses as long as my arm but they're only contributory factors, Ultimately it was on me, I admit my mind wasn't on the job as today was the anniversary of the mother-in-law's death, lost her to COVID last year.

Just hoping I can pull it back on fault finding on Wednesday, trying to stay positive bit ---- it's hard.

Fault finding Wednesday, new day new slate.

ONWARDS!

I Feel your pain mate. Especially when you want it bad. Just use the anger to

Fair play @Lister1987 I feel your pain mate.

I'll be whiping out the GN3, On site Guide and Regs if I need them which I 110% will whist doing my first few periodics/initial verifications no matter if the clients about or not, let alone in a college with a tutor.

Ill have no shame in that regards and until I'm a walking talking GN3, OSG, regs book rolled into one I'll just keep referring to them even if it does look a bit sketchy that I keep having to refer to my book.

Better safe then sorry I say and seeing as it's my life on the line I'll decide if I need to look at the book quickly and not be in the least bit bothered that surely I should no this and not need to look at the book sort of thing.

I've heard that quite a few people out there in the real world will only run 250v when testing IR as it say you can do that in the regs.

I expext they've probably had a costly experience somewhere along the line so just to be safe they now only go upto 250v on IR as doing it @ 500v they missed something that was plugged in, it got damaged and they had to replace it.

Lol at the tutor bit. I'd have have probably not talked to him for the rest of the day as you basically asked him if the circuit was dead and trusting him took his answer of no as gospel you then touched it and electrocuted yourself.

I guess you no not to trust him anymore ?

Lol at him asking you 50 ----ing questions.

I did ask my tutor why there's a time limit in the exam because in my hea in the real world I'm personally not gonna rush myself. I'll be taking my time. He said they put a time limit on it to put you under pressure and see how you deal with it. That's why they ask you load of questions as well apparently to put you under pressure and to see how you deal with it. Wether you flap or can logically work though it and work through it.

When you said he had to stop it do you mean press the button to kill the power

I was told by the tutor about this and half expect him to have to use it on me.

Good luck with the fault finding bit hopefully you can claw it back.

We sound like we're both trying to better ourselves so I'll keep an eye out for your progress.

I'm a little bit behind yourself but taking the same path

Good luck @Lister1987

Passed the fault finding so there's that, put it down to anniversary of ex mother-in-law's death from COVID and the constant questions breaking my focus.

Waiting to see if can pull it back or lodge a complaint about the constant questions when I'm trying to concentrate on testingi had my books there; GN3 OSG BBB and just couldn't focus.

Didn't have to kill power just did the 'i want to stop you there as I'm seeing things I'm not happy with"

I think it is to try and put the pressure on you and make you flap.

I can't wait to do mine to be honest as I'm not gonna flap if anything it will be me making my examiner flap and going for the kill switch. (See how he likes that)

Redid it and think I did ok, wasn't stopped this time although the paperwork was pisdibg me off, 3 sheets for 3 boards but only fully tested 1 board so the other have no results, just specs and I was fretting thinking I'd either missed tests or forgot to record results ..

Final written exam tonight so we'll see what happens

Good luck mate nice determination

Had the final exam last night, all things being equally I've now completed my level 3, now to try and get onsite experience and start the portfolio building. If anyone needs a pair of hands please let me know; have own transport, tools, limited power tools and MFT.

Nice mate. Well done.

I've got level 3 but no am2 or portfolio.

I'm currently doing the 2391 although the course has stalled at the moment but should be resuming soon.

If it all goes to plan

I'll have level 3 and 2391 but will then need to go back to do the am2 and the portfolio of works to obtain the gold card.

I feel like I've done it the wrong way round but it is what it is
