Hey lads,

Just a quickie to let you know i am still alive, house successfully re-wired, very happy customers, very tired Ben and very glad to be out of that house. Its hard to fully explain it on here, you would need to see my face turn pale as i tell the stories, but the house was 110% haunted!! Understandably i can only assume most of you who are reading this are probably in mid scrabble for something to hold on to as your fall off your chairs in fits of hysterics, and up until this last week i would have joined you...but the guy working with me was in agreement and couldnt wait to leave, and i burdened the plasterer with the hauntings and the tales that went on in this house and left the poor bloke shaking on his hopper like a dog taking a **** cowering in the corner with his trowel for protection. He was not a happy bunny.

Aside from the horrendous and totally unexplanable **** that went on in that house, i thoroughly enjoyed the job and got on really well. Wasnt half as bad as i was expecting, apart from the house being fully furnished....massive ball ache. 5 days wiring the things, 2 days playing removals man. Few odds and sods left to do, and will unfortauntely have to go back in the next couple of evenings to do them...in the dark...with my one little work light for company, browning my pants a little further, already worked through the night for two evenings in a row, had to employ a mate each time just to keep me company haha! I also realise that what ever strand of reputable standing i may have had or at least aspired to have on this forum is well and truly down the pan, but im sticking to my guns on this one. DO NOT undertake any work on highfield crescent in hindhead. you will leave a lesser person :bigcry:

Anyway, thanks again to all who pointed me in the right direction. I can honestly say at this point however, that acheiving a rewire to a good standard, with thorough testing and anticipating a few set backs such as a furniture, awkward loft access, tiled flooring, hidden incoming water mains to bond, 2 dopey cats, ghosts, and only eating home made samosas from the petrol station on the corner that cause uncontrollable and semi-unconcious rendering gas clouds on a 15 minute basis...rewiring a house of that size in under a week is quite a task and hats off to those who manage it!

Cheers chaps

Ben

Well done on the rewire mate, overall sounds good, what did your risk assessment say about supernatural working?

Onward and upward to more rewires!! (without ghosts)

Right, last thing.

Not only will the owners haunt me forever asking me to change bulbs by the looks of things, but the ghost was def not keen on me returning to pick my tools up the night befre last. Someone said i was brave to stay, but this time, i literally bolted out the door like penguin on a water slide.

Was downstairs just removing an old socket from the skirting for them, when there was the ludest bang and then subsequent crashing and tumbling of stuff upstairs...another loud bang of things sounding like they were al falling over, then total silence....absolutely, 120% bricked it. problem was i left my drill and all my holesaws upstairs in the bathroom, which meant walking the entire length of the landing to get there...for a second, considered leaving them there and adding them to material costs. but i manned up, went upstairs to investigate...and surpirse suprise...nothing, anywhere, had fallen over.

after 3 consecutive B&H on the way home, and half a pack of soft mints i just about calmed down and managed to unclench.
