if a fixed item is fixed out of zone 2 as i read it there is no need to have any special ip rating as there is no reg concerning out of zone2 obviously any leed should be short enougth that it is not of any danger

I think sockets have to be 3 or more metres from the boundary between zone 1 and 0 , not sure about fixed items though.

Regardless of zones, to a point, any accessory should be chosen and installed according to the environment its used in.

Even if the ceiling is 2.5M, i would still install an ip rated accessory regardless.
