1980s home. 1 GFCI 20a breaker in panel. Repeatedly opens. Pulled all outlets I could find, replaced 2 outdoor outlets that were damaged. No evidence of water or moisture. Checked all outlets for cross wiring and continuity issues. Nothing apparent. GFCI keeps going into reset mode. Replaced GCFI breaker.
An electrician friend suggested replacing the GFCI breaker with a regular 20a breaker and installing a GCFI outlet in place of a regular outlet. Thoughts, suggestions??

Instead of replacing Willy Nilly get some testing done, could save you some dinero

Hi do you have any method of testing the breaker? Or of testing the cables? It could be something you cannot see or a fault with breaker. Without testing, it is impossible to find out.
