Anyone recommend / use any particular make of glove. I'm thinking of light weight type gloves that may have some paracticality with fiddly wiring etc... if such a thing exists?

only gloves with the fingers cut off ( steptoe ) will allow you to connect fiddly wiring. even worse for me as i can't even see the slots in some of these terminal screws.

Arco essentials very thin ones do me well - I'm fitting 27 outside flood replacements and have only took gloves off twice in two days and that's to find bolts in pockets. It's cold in Glastonbury at the moment so couldn't work without them!
