Hello,
i'm new to the forum. Does anybody know how i can get work being newly qualified? I am trying writing to random Electrical companys in my area. I would even consider working as an electritians mate just to get on the job experience. Any advice would be gladly received.

Cheers in advance:sunny::sunny:

Gedster, welcome to the asylum..ooops sorry I meant forum. First off amend your profile so your approximate location is shown, it might not be worthwhile but you never know, someone in your area could be a member and sometime need a pair of hands for a bit. I've seen it happen. Rather than take a scattergun approach why not identify the companys in your area who operate in the sectors that interest you and hit them all with your CV, ring them first and ask the name of the hiring guy for electricals then address your letter direct to him/her. Then widen out your search to all the other contractors.
Keep throwing the muck at the wall mate, eventually some will stick
Good luck

Thanks Trev & the rest of you guy's. It was my first go on the forum. I have altered my location as advised. I will try doing as you have suggested. I did work for 12 months for a maintenance company but the company put me off the trade.

LOL I thought that weird also. I had changed my location already. Not sure what happened. The internet out here in Afghan is not very good.
