Hi all, after a bit of help please.

Trying to replace a 2 way light switch but am struggling to understand where the 2 red wires and 2 black wires will wire into the new switch as the terminals are marked different.

I have attached images for reference, any help will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

They have just added an extra digit to show which is switch 1 and which is switch 2.
So Com1 L11 and L12 are one switch
Com2 L21 and L21 are the other switch.

The original just has Com L1 and L2, twice, with a diagonal line separating them.

Thanks mate.

So would I be correct in putting the reds in com1 and L11 and the blacks in com2 and L21?

No each red into the separate Comm terminals. Their corresponding blacks into the separate L11 and L21. If you get them mixed up, the lights don't work just swap the blacks over. As above is the switch metal as it has an earth terminal.

A bit late to the party, but might help others with same question.

The 2 gang switch is built up as 2 individual switches… one upside down to the other.
In this case:-

All makes of switches are different. Some are marked C,L1,L2… some are L1,L2,L3

Some have the common on the other end of the L1 and L2…. Some have C and L1 on one end with L2 on the other.

Some are really sneaky a throw in a random “loop” terminal that does nothing but have somewhere to join cables.
