Hi
After being in bed for 8 weeks now after breaking my leg on holiday, I find my brain
has softened. I have yet to order new 17E regs and OSG so I ask this question,
confident in the knowledge that 'those who post the most' will have the info I desire.
Question: Is is still the case that on a TT installation the CSU should have an RCD as
the main swith ? if so, should it be 100mA type S ? Thanking you all in anticipation of
the light.

Back to bed I go :(

Regards Pat

there was never a requirement

requirement protection from fire from 100mA for circuits outside disconnection times and 30mA for sockets etc.

If that 100mA happened to be the nmain switch, then yes it should be an S type

However, 30mA (in a domestic TT system) now required for:

s/o's 20A or less
all bathroom circuits
all buried cables less than 5 cm deep (unless mech protected etc)

so chances are it will all be on 30mA RCD's, so no requirment for 100mA

Additionally, for protection against fire, max is now 300mA anyway;)
