Hi All

Have a job where i need to reconnect the electrics associated with heating the swimming pool , sounds easy enough but all previous equipment has been ripped out and misplaced .

Im left with a conventional gas boiler and a pump ant thats it !

What I'm planning is to control the boiler with a stat that will be in a pipe and some form of timer for the pump ?

Im also thinking i will need some form of cut outs or high or low water sensors maybe frost protect ?

Have been trawling the net for a while and keep hitting a wall with info , would really appreciate anyone with experience in this field to list the components that i will need to complete and if you had a drawing that would be amazing .

Thanks

Keeping it simple, the timer needs to control the pump and the boiler (Stat on the boiler can regulate water temp) as well, no point having the boiler firing if water isn't circulating.
Boiler may have integral frost stat but otherwise good idea unless regularly drained down during winter.

That makes sense no point in timer then I’ll just use stat to fire boiler and contact to run pump .

Pool guy has left a stat that goes in his pipe work but doesn’t know anything else about the system .

The stat on the boiler cant control the pool water temp. The boiler flow/return will serve a heat exchanger through which the pool water will circulate. Simplest way to control pool temperature would be with a pipe stat on the pool flow/return controlling the boiler with both the pump and boiler switched through a timer
