Hi chaps im new to the forum and i would like to express me great thanks to all people out there who helped me achieve my ultimate goal..!

i re-wired my house, my mams house and my uncles house on your advice.

what i did is popped down to the local wholesalers B&Q with me Nan on a wednesday so i could get 10% off like, any way i managed to get hold of this cable for £20 a drum... dont know where you sparks get yours from but any way i got a few and it was proper cheap like,

i picked up a new shower for me nan while i was there...! 10.5kw it said or somit..! needs to be in 10mm cable according to the Electrical Expert in the orange apron walking around with this mad price gun like..! any ways i went righto and got a bit of the wires out me trolley and measured the cable side to side...! i got 12mm any way so this cable is perfect..! whats 2.5mm mean on the side?? have they missed the 1 off the front of the 2 cause like i said i measured 12mm accross the sliced bit, proberly from china like so they dinnit knaa what they printing (nee wonder its cheap)

right any way gets home and me uncle gives me some more cable he had in his shed bit smaller and colours were different...! but not to worry its only cable..!!

right its been a week and nee proplems so far, only thing me nan said is that her shower keeps cutting out and the wall is warm..! must be her head, ganning senile or somit..... might take the shower back and get her a nother one??

Vista print just sent me some new business cards which im ganna put up in the chippy and tell people to stop using you expensive rip of merchants and save a bit of cash with me, every penny counts..!! on that note i got some well cheap sockets and lights from tesco in the DIY isle...! got me self a multifunction tester screwy as well for 2 quid! bingo expensive gadgets why bother..

whats current carrying capacity???

and that my hammer is mint...! loads of work on there, some woman was going on about Niccceiezecic but think she was mad

all the best

Pete

Electric shower and infloor/wall heating all on one circuit. First class job: well done that man! Environmentally sound too, saving all that scarce copper.

Using a bent nail in a Wylex rewireable fuse carrier will solve the cutting-out problem*. The old ways are the best.

* seen it in the 60's - was a standard DIY repair in those days :)

need to remember that tip only buy materials on a wednesday n drag mum along for 10% discount sorted hows the underfloor heating, shower did you have to put the wire under the tiles and make it cris cross to cover the floor?

That pete guy must be the same bloke who improvised a 5 amp fuse i came across a couple of weeks ago by using a paper clip (honest !) Must remember that because it worked

Do I detect a note of sarcasm in this post:) should have been a copper but then if I was a copper someone would have used me as a fuse
