Got a job in a house to move pullcord in downstairs bathroom to switch outside. Not a prob but cu is old wylex rewireables and obviosly we are now in 17th mode. So was gonna fit an rcbo in a small unit inline of lighting circuit. Still no prob but lighting circuit has no cpc and is generally in bad way. Oh and no supp bonding either.
So how far do you go with the job? Just fit rcbo and new switch, test and recommend lighting rewire on cert or not do anything unless lights rewired ?

well you can get around the supp bonding as long as all the other condions are met (main bonding ok, disconnection times, 1667 ohms etc), but are there other circuits in the bathroom apart from the lighting, these we need to be on an RCCB/RCBO as well (although you probably know that:eek:)

So an RCBO, class two light fitting and you could get it signed off, but obviosuly some remedial work would be better

No other circuits and lights are spotlights

Just the lights in the room and they are class 2 spots
