In the wrong trade?

Sometimes I wonder. Done all my exams from 2391 to 2382. All the insurances, books, test equipment, tools etc to boot. No scheme fees here though, Northern Ireland doesn't bother with em much (NIC has a good bit of coverage for there is no Part P*ish here)!

But just landed a little job for next month, a house move (got a high roof LWB base van). It's a simple 4 mile round trip each time, and whilst I was nudged in the way of price, it for me and a mate is higher than I get sparking!

I thought the price was excessive but it beat 5 other companies "by a distance", and when I reiterated I don't cover breakages - apparently neither do any of the others.

Got another in the pipeline as well that may take 2 days and quote to beat is a mere £1,700!!!!

Yep I've done a few house moves myself in my ldv convoy but not at those prices! Bloody hell, well done mate.

Best I ever did was Leeds to north London £700 one days work by my self, 200 costs rest in my back pocket, and I thought that was good!

It's all about being versatile! It is a bit of a joke really that you can make more lumping furniture round than having a proper skill. My uncle is a structural engineer, yet makes more money building horse jumps for cross country horse courses like at Badminton!
