Hello ! My Indesit YT M11 82X UK tumble dryer starts, then almost immediately stops. Both Lint filters clean, water tank empty, no error codes, less than a year old. Wondered if there were any simple solutions before I call someone in to have a look. Cheers !

Does it start, then just stop completely, or does it just pause for a long time before continuing?

How old is it? It might have just reached the end

I think the bit of the OP' message that says "less than a year old" might be a clue!

Is it not under warranty?

Thanks for replying - it starts for a second or so then pauses and doesn’t turn back on. It’s less than a year old.

If it's less than a year it should be under warranty. Your first call should be to either the manufacturer or the shop that sold it. If you get someone else in to look at it you could invalidate the warranty.

I have the same problem.
It happens most when there are wet towels to be dried.
It's not a weight problem, It's the door pin that is at the centre top of the door.
When the door is closed the pin operates a microswitch.

My drier now works whatever the load!

The answer - get a bamboo skewer, a flexible one. Poke it in the hole and gently close the door. You should see the skewer sticking up between the door and the body of the drier.

Well it solved my problem, it may or may not solve yours!

Not sure about your model but on some driers the float switch is a block of polystyrene which when wet can stick to the side of the container and give a false tank full signal which stops the machine. If thats the case make it heavier or throw it away and empty the tank often.
