Hi
What are the laws on testing in commercial buildings?

If i run in a extra 4 sockets i was led to believe that you need a N.I.C.E.I.C Certificate but also i am told you can get the green certificates from N.I.C.E.I.C which will state the test results.

I spoke with the N.I.C.E.I.C today and to my amazement its down to the actual company what certificate they want.

I have ordered the Green Certificates today, from what i am told many more Companies don't seem to ask for a test certificate.

Just advice please.

Mark

The only rule is the installation should be tested and test sheets completed any test sheets would do however as usual most larger companys believe only niceic forms are acceptable........

Plus, you should also check with the client.

Sometimes they, or their insurance companies require NICEIC or ECA registered contractors to carry out the works.

Hi
Thanks for this but the more i talk to people the more i hear of people not using NIC Certificates.

Thanks

Mark

Yes but this is outside the scope of Part P for eg, so therefore, there is no requirement to belong to any scheme, as long as certs are produced for the work.

BUT, some companies insurance requires the contractor to be registered with one of them.

Then, on the other hand, if they dont request it then no prob.

Make sense?:D
