Iv had a guy keeping me, my wife and my baby awake all last night from 1030 until 5am this morning singing Prince Charming and Stand and deliver at me down the phone.

I'v told him to **** off but hes Adamant :joker:

Simples to deal with said d***head. Buy a whistle - the type that referees use. Keep it next to the phone that said DH calls you on. When you think that said DH is on the other end of the phone blow on the whistle as loud as possible into the phone. I guarantee that said DH won't call back. Not with a perforated eardrum anyway.

yes ive had one or too and agree and understand where your coming from, but was just trying to relay that the original post was initially a joke be it as old as the song itself, but a couple of posts seem to have missed this and replied in a serious context but apologise if it touches a nerve through your experiences was just expressing the light hearted context of his post.... had them myself found out who did it and lets just say his abilities to hold a phone soon after made sure he didnt make the same mistake again, i protect my business any way i can so been there done that but luckily stopped it dead...... ps from a legal point of view it not me writing this nor is any of this true :Mr-T:

Sorry I flew off the handle, but I’ll never forget returning home to find the wife terrified after I went out on a hoax call out. We had a good idea who it was and he got a bit of a stomping at work by the other lads. The police were like a chocolate fire guard!

Sorry I flew off the handle, but I’ll never forget returning home to find the wife terrified after I went out on a hoax call out. We had a good idea who it was and he got a bit of a stomping at work by the other lads. The police were like a chocolate fire guard!

No worries, been on here a few years now and know the cut off your jib, so wasnt offended knew it was small misunderstanding

On the point of hoax calls

I now have a system where calls divert to my mobile 8am-8pm, clients can leave a voicemail or are given another number to call an emergengy electrician (not my mobile)

This number diverts to my mobile, but only after a message that payment will be taken by debit card prior to the electrician being despatched.
This seperates the timewasters

I try not to give my mobile number out as I keep it with me at all times

My Mrs went on to me a few years back about some pillock using offensive language with nuisance calls
I happened to pick up the phone one day and was met with "why dont you go **** yourself"
I said nothing for a moment,held the phone slightly away and called over to the wife

"Jan,that ****ing nutcase is on the ****ing phone,for **** sake come here and have a listen"
I got back on the phone and said "Ok mate,let rip,I told her it was a load of ******** but I am ****ing dying to know how good a nutter you are" chuckling as I talked

He told me to **** off again,so I bo----d him
"for ****s sake,is that it,you have wasted my ****ing time ringing me just to tell me to **** off.
I sure as **** thought you were are a bigger ****ing nutcase than that,

I kept on ridiculing the tawt
Eventually he put the phone down on me

by the way,I dont normally swear,but it don't offend me either

im regretting posting my home number on the ads ive made up.. i constantly have the companies calling me trying to get more money out of me.. its total bs. My house fone doesnt stop..

speaking of which.. there it goes AGAIN!!!!!! Grrrrrrrr

Nick182, what ads in particular is it web ads or leaflet/local paper ads that you get the aggro from.

As with jobs adverts they sometimes put 'no agencies' you may need to put something on the ad saying 'no sales calls'.

You could say no sales calls but when you go on the web and advertise or put out leaflets then I feel you have put your phone details in so when I get a sales call at 6 pm and they say its David here (in a thick bombay accent) can I speak to Y)(*&^% please I say O yes I will go and get him I leave the phone on the hall table and return to my evening meal leaving them wasting their time on the phone.
