Its NIC for me I think?

I am an experienced electrician but have no formal qualifications and as I am just about ready to sit C&G2382 I thought I would see if it made any difference.At NAPIT the nice lady although very helpful remained unimpressed at the prospect of C&G quals and said I would still have to take the two day trade test at Nottingham followed by an on site assesssment.At ELECSA someone was supposed to phone me back and didn't.At NIC the bloke there who sounded like a proper sparky was very helpful and encouraging,said C&G2382 was a good idea and I should then just do their on site assessment and if all ok that would be it.It was all much more simple when I were an apprentice lad,the gaffer used to prod each socket in turn with his trusty neon screwdriver to verify polarity.He then tried a large metal cased electric drill on each one to see if it worked"Best to use something wi' a bit o' power"he used to say.Presumably if this test was conducted successfully without him being electrocuted the earth loop impedance was considered to be satisfactory.
Any thoughts on NIC?I wonder if the great Tony Cable will be conducting my assessment.

Good luck with it just dont get your drill out when asked to perform any test

Get your self on one of theses part p courses , 1 week as far as i understand , then do your 17th edt , another week , then bobs ye uncle , you can join the NIC.......... as long as you pass the on site assessment

just join nic, many cowboys do. Pay em the money, roll up, test it, rawhide.
This country is barking ****ing mad. I know several sparks could not wire a ring main without a circuit diagram. They go to college for 6-weeks and they are more qualified than me, because they can read numbers..its ****ing crazy

and there two day trade tests are a joke too napit is free if you join them) and the bloke said after i passed you now qualified son can work anywhere with this cert - yeah right cause my 2330, nvq, am2, 17th n 2391 dont count
