Hello Chaps

not been on for a while been busy. not complaining though. But, im knackered, so thinking of getting a labourer or trainee. Does anyone have any idea what the going rate is? im not tight just with the economical climate the way it is i would want to be able to afford to keep the guy in the slow times as well as when times are good.

thanks in advance

min wage or less if its a trainee

Not true. It is illegal to pay anything other than a first-year Apprentice below the minimum wage. It is a common misconception that all Apprentices can be paid below.

Also, the training contract may specify rate of pay and then breach of contract would also be unlawful.

Around £7.00 - £9.00 ph for an adult; if they're self employed you can bin them off if they're not very good or business is slow.
Apprentices are cheaper but there's a minefield of rules you have to obey to employ them.

... Or you could get a newly "qualified" domestic installer to work for free!

We have a bloke who's done a 6 week course and come out with his 'part P qualification' (hahaha etc) and 17th...

Currently getting paid more than a few of the guys that are 2330 and 17th

Joke?

His JIB is currently 'Electrical Labourer'
