do these exist, or have i imagined it?

i'm thinking of something i could plug into my mft, and then screw into a BC or ES fitting and then clip on the earth lead so i could do a ZS test quickly without removing the light fitting.

reason i ask is i had to test a house recently with several fancy looking metal lights which had to be removed, causing damage to the decor and it took bloody ages to get them back up. if i had been able to just screw an adapter in it would have taken 1 minute per light instead of 3 hours!

As Lenny as linked too, I have them and they are brilliant not just for fancy lights but also standard pendants when you need 3 hands sometimes.

just have to bear in mind that with standard pendants etc., you still have to access inside the rose for the E terminal.

These are brilliant bits of kit, got a set from ebay last year and they've had a lot of use. Saves trying to clip on or probe whilst trying to get onto a good earth whilst balancing on the steps on the top of the stairwell... Just a case of unscrewing the rose cover to get to the earth, great when there's 30 years worth of paint holding it in place.

i have a set of the kewtechs and its miles better than fighting with prods whilst tryin to make sure the earth croc dont `ping` off the earth block in roses/3 plates....

well if you cant get the cover off the rose.....then just get your earth prod on the screw holding the switch front on..(if it will reach)....its an exposed-conductive-part isn`t it....

yeah but it defeats the purpose of testing at the furthest point, why not just do your Zs tests at the DB !

always manage to get rose covers off with a bit of gentle persuasion with hammer. only trouble with sparks1973's post is you would not be able to tell id the cpc actually went to the fitting.
