Hi,

I'm in the process of purchasinga house. In amonst the various bits of paperwork is a certificate for the completion of some minor work.

In the comments section the electrician has put :

"Downstairs sockets not on RCB. Limited bonding & evidence of some non preofessional work being carried out".

I'm assuming that the fact he's commented on the RCBs is to meet current regs & is advising that it's something that would be beneficial to have fitted?

I'm not overly concerned about the "non professional" part as I would expect a house of this age (25 years) to have had some DIY electrics before the new regs on kitchen & bathrooms.

What I'm more interested in is the "limited bonding", presumably this is related to earthing but what exactly would "limited" be? Size of cable?

There's nothing on the certificate to say anything is unsafe, just wondering which of the above you guys would suggest needs sorting first?

Many thanks.
