i need some opinions on a new drill but i cant quite decide....
i want makita as i have some strange fixation with this brand :0)
anyway im looking at 2 models....
bhp453 50nm torque and bhp451 80nm torque.
my problem is do i need the extra torque? more snatched wrists, broken drill bits and poss reduced battery life, or will i love the extra power? your views please, tons of power or just a smidgeon.

ill be using the drill for all sorts, drilling joists, uni-strut, tray.........

TBH mate if your drilling joists the 451 is fine, take it your looking at sitework/refurbs where powers off because no battery drill copes like a 240

I have a 452 and am a happy puppy. Works just fine. A year ago was struggling with decision myself. I thought 451 might be a bit to bulky for longer activities. So went for 452. Ideally, if you can afford go for 451 for heavier loads and impact drill for screws.

yeh i agree you cant beat a corded drill but sometimes its a pain dragging extensions and transformers round. 90% of my work is industrial so i tend to almost live up ladders, cordless is the best option. whats the 452 like at drilling massonary? i have a lower spec ni-cd at the moment and it panics whenever i show it a wall.
