looking at replacing my 1552 for 1553, usually use easycert but thinking of getting onsite software for the 1553 so:
is it any good?
and when autofilling test sheets at home from its memory how would it know which circuit was which or am i being dumb?

You don't autofill. You communicate via Bluetooth to a laptop or PDA and select circuit/field or value on meter. E.g. select L-N for line/neutral insulation resistance reading then press Bluetooth transfer button.
