Hello chaps. I have just purchased the Metrel 3152 xc (colour touchscreen etc) and am not happy with the way it performs IR tests. If you test between L&N to CPC @500v you can get low readings. However, if you do a long press of the test button and put the machine into constant mode, the result comes out as >999Mohms. I never had to do this when using a Megger MFT before. Has anyone else noticed this?

i have a megger 1553 and always keep finger on test button till reading peaks. take finger off test button and the test voltage (500V) drops off.

I've the 3155 and the IR test works fine. 1 button press at your chosen voltage etc. Have you spoken to Metrel UK, they have always been very helpful to me?

It's the same on my Megger too, got to keep that button pressed...
