just wondering if anyone knows where I can find the instrument serial number on one of these machines ....

Take the battery cover off mate and you will see it above the 2 time delay fuses. Well it is on mine anyways

I know you can print a test report maybe it puts the serial number on that ?? I have never used the report feature myself like but it could be worth a look.

hav`nt been able to get the instrument working with the software .... am using eurolink .... but so far no joy ...

Check your calibration certificates lads. Last time I got mine done it was printed on there. Giving them your own serial numbers is acceptable as long as the testers and all their equipment are identified by the same number. NIC registered companies I've worked for in the past have used bag numbers and they've said it was ok
