NAPIT OR NIC?!

Hello guys, wondering if some of you could help. Recently became self employed so have never had to register with a assessment body to be an electrician to sign off my own work.
I am looking to become a domestic installer with either of the two. Just wanted to see what was best and pro’s and con’s of each, how you go about the process etc.

thanks in advance!

Short version based on recent experience is NAPIT phoned me back within 24 hours and were most helpful.
NICEIC didn't respond for weeks and calls to them were as useful as a chocolate teapot. They still haven't in fact responded to the 2nd application form (the first one apparently lost).
NAPIT got my money (interest free 6 monthly payments available)
