Having said that, it's very old gear. Maybe an innocent shed supply done as a side job by an industrial spark ages ago with gear he robbed from site.
 
Do you know,the one wind turbine,that is always turning,on it's own,even when there is no wind? ....it's powering that.

No idea exactly, but if the projectile is coming out as fast as they state, I would imagine the air around is subject to some immense forces.
Did you know for example that the mantis shrimp can move its claws that fast when stunning its prey, that the water around it boils instantaneously ?
