Should we be able to recommend people for admission to the pub?
There's a few I think would make the discussion lively.
Plus it's probably their round anyway hehe

Perhaps a Sticky thread in the arms where members can post names of members that they have noticed contributing a number of informative posts? Sounds like a good idea trev if the Mods agree:thumbsup

There are some posters that make this forum worth coming to when ever i turn my computer on and not to allow them in the arms is just plane wrong , there is no doubt they deserve to be here more than me !
But , I was under the understanding that you had to have proof that you are trading or some way of the mods tyeing a personal link to you .
Now that is not that hard with my user ID any way , but i think it would / does make things a little more personal , calmer and more professional as well here in the arms ?
And if they wanted to come in surly they will ask anyway , or maybe they have and they have not been accepted by the mods for some good reason only know to the mods , now that will just be embarrassing and unfair to them if we keep asking on their behalf to be told no .

dp there are 2 ways to get access to the arms - you can either prove that you run an electrical business, or make regular and worthwhile contributions to the forum.
To begin with I felt the second way was in some way 'cheating', however now it seems the other way around; the purpose of the arms was originally to discuss customers, suppliers etc out of public view, however now it seems a lot of members come here for a relaxed chat. Personally I feel the mods do a great job of picking members for the arms, and also at keeping out the riff-raff.
Either way, we don't discuss other members.

Hi Adam i totally agree that the mods have got the right balance , hence i think things are probably best left as they are .
Like they say " If it ain't broke why fix it ! "
