Discuss New/old toy; Hilmor EL25 Shortie in the Electrical Tools and Products area at ElectriciansForums.net

these parts are readily available on fleabay.

As above

loads of Hilmor finds its way onto Ebayb
Surprisingly either my eBay-fu is rusty or there's not a lot out there. Put an order in at BendItNow for parts.

I'm sure the nuts and bolts on this thing are imperial, just my sodding luck ? got the pipevice off so I can attack the thing with the Dremel...alas a grinder (not teh gay one) isn't in my possession just yet.

think they are 8.0mm. bolts. i have some if you want them

stripit down, combi drill, rotary wire brush, down to the metal, repaint in the colour of your choice.

I'd be of the opinion that patina trumps restoration and would therefore maintain this original finish with an oily rag.

It's not the lazy option, but the proper way to preserve our industrial heritage ?

mine was a horrible gold hammerite in patches. . repainted in red/black (my company colours). hate jcb yellow anyway.

and that's not patina, it's rust.
