Can anyone clear up the details of the recent changes for me ? Some sources say that CO detection now applies to rooms with solid fuel burning appliances only, wood and coal, and some say any fuel burning appliance, to include gas.

I have a few landlord customers and would like to be clear on the changes myself too.

All I know so far is that they need to be the ones with the ten year tamper proof battery's in them and on the paper work it does say all rooms with solid fuel burning like wood and coal nothing about Gas but I am in the process of finding out .

Landlords would also need to install carbon monoxide alarms in high risk rooms – such as those where a solid fuel heating system is installed.

Those who fail to install smoke and carbon monoxide alarms would face sanctions and could face up to a £5,000 civil penalty.

Landlords should know exactly what they SHOULD have already done;

Just woundering what documentation is required to say that these detectors are working correctly after all, to test them you just press the test button and it works or it doesn't so is there going to be a 6 page report for this? :)
