PDU connected to SurgeX XF2 surge protector = safe ?

I've been searching for the best surge protector (excluding whole-house solution) and came to the conclusion that SurgeX is the best choice.

My problem is that i need 16 outlets to connect everything in my home theather, and the price for the SurgeX devices with a lot of outlets is very expensive.

So i was wondering if it would be safe to buy a $300 SurgeX XF2 with 2 outlets, then take my "Tripp Lite PDUMV15" (16 outlets, not surge protected) and connect it to the SurgeX XF2 ?
So i would have a 16 outlets PDU connected to the SurgeX XF2.

Can the SurgeX XF2 handle 16 outlets of connected equippement ?

sorry we don't know much about the products you are on about, but I imagine connecting 16 outlets to a 2 outlet device would be dangerous/problematic due to overloading

Your question is about human safety and local code requirements. Only one in or knowledgeable of fire codes in your venue can answer that question.

You are asking about daisy chaining power strips. That is considered a risk to human safety. Some venues aggressively enforce that code. Others don't care. Spend money for a SurgeX designed to safely meet your needs.

Meanwhile, one wire completely bypasses SurgeX protection. Can connect a surge directly to your appliances. SurgeX is typically for surges that do not do damage.
