Hello chaps, I have just registered with the NAPIT and passed the assesments etc.
although I have been an electrician for a number of years I have only just began certifying my own work etc as I have generally worked in industry rather than comercial or domestic.

Question I have, I have been asked to do a periodic inspect and test for someone I know who has a fresh water fish business. He has some indoor pools that the fish are kept in. In this area are several lights from ceiling mounted spots to flu fittings. Can you tell me if these are allowed over the pools, is the any zoneing as with bathrooms etc. Can you yell me where in the book I can find info on this topic, have looked a bit but seem to draw a blank.

All help appreciated,

Ross.

go to page 3 of the 17th, look under special locations, I think its 711 (possibly) that is 'Swimming pools and other basins' or something like that

there are zones in there, but the descriptions should tell you if your situation comes under this or not.

I would go and have a look at the job and take a few photos and measurements then refer back to "The good book", i always find a photo helps when trying to remember a new site.
