Hi David, don't want to sound condescending, but why would you want a socket tester and more to the oint what are you hoping to test with the mains OFF

A socket tester can be a useful quick check in some circumstances, but I'm intrigued also - what tests would you expect to be able to do?

This is the chap with the tripping MCB and RCD main switch, who presumably is tryin to avoid :

a. employing a spark with a MFT

or

b. buying an MFT
