Hi, anyone used the Pratley underground boxes before ? How do you rate them ? Ive never used one but have found a few negative reviews on other forums.

looking at a job yesterday where 3 SWA's need to be jointed underground, the joint may need to be accessed in the future for an additional point, so a resin filled box/torpedo is not an option. Was going to wago the 4mm cores in the Pratley box itself. Are there any cheaper alternatives out there ?

Thanks all

Why not use a resin joint for the first three, and then tee into an armoured for the future joint. This may save you some hassle.

Was going over this and got thinking, because an underground joint is underground (in soil) does this make it necessary for it to be maintenance free ?

i's solder and use adhesive heat shrink rather than wagos.

The thing im getting at now is wanting to make a joint underground; so because its covered in soil and so only accessible via a tool (spade, or trowel), does this make it necessary (according to regs) for the whole unit (enclosure & connections), to be maintenance free ?

Because products like the wago capsule, which can be buried according to their website, are not maintenance free, which suggests that underground joints dont need to be mf; is that right ?

under concrete... inaccessible. under soil... accessible, fred west soon get at it.
