What are the considerations when laying out (eg 16) panels as 1) one contiguous 'sheet' - albeit spaced to allow for expansion gaps 2) Leaving larger spaces between a) rows and b) columns or c) both rows ad columns?

Airflow/pv performance, aesthetics, rain run-off, cabling, mounting, accessibility/ maintenance, time/cost.

Any thoughts?
