Posted it earlier but yes seen this although he had goggles on he ripped right up his face because when disc snagged and kicked back, ive seen ppl talking about eye protection regarding grinders but PPE for a hand grinder should be full face shield.

I agree. I use a grinder all the time for cutting tray, trunking ect. Im issued a visor, but a few months ago, I didn't wear it. I got a shard of steel in my eye, and had to go to a&e to get it pulled out. I wear glasses too, and the shard managed to get behind my glasses.

Sorry to keep banging on but, you should also make sure the disc you use is rated to the RPM of your grinder too.

I've seen guys loose half their faces through poor grinder use, it aint nice I can tell thee.

Few years ago near me a guy was using a 110V 9inch grinder on 240V (someone changed the plug) with no guard. He was working alone and the disk was overspeeding and burst, Piece flew off and cut his throat and he bled to death. Safety glasses wouldnt have helped him.

My son-in-law is a mechanic.
Undoing a bolt under a car on a lift using a spanner, small piece of rust fell into his eye.
Two days later, off to Moorfields, removed the small piece of rust.
The optician said he would have lost the sight in the eye if it had worked in another millimeter.

I personally in your case wouldn't be worried too much of a serious accident but more so of a heart attack that plate of greasy breakfast will give you if its there as a pic of pride (profile pic) , slight humour aside my crowd of mates are in their 40's and 50's and those that lets say enjoy their curries and fry-ups are ALL now effected in some way or other be it Diebetes to strokes etc....... Weetabix all the way mate or pay the price. Dont get me wrong not preaching just saw your pic and reminded me of a freind we just buried 46yrs old heart attack related to diet and drink.

The breakfast in my profile picture is more of a tribute to the Olympics (it's a Little Chef 'Olympic breakfast') than an indication of my lifestyle.
I'm a firm believer in 'everything in moderation' - I don't think one Olympic breakfast is going to give you a coronary but if you had one every day you'd most likely end up paying for it later in life. Same with things like takeaways and ready meals, and even eating out at restaurants; restaurant food is almost always cooked with flavour in mind over health, and contains more fat, salt and sugar than you might think. Again the cumulative effect of a couple of pints in the pub after work every night will take it's toll after a while, although I enjoy a few jars at the weekend without worrying that one day it might kill me.

You might look at some of the 'gross-out' meals on Man Vs Food (the kind where if you finish it all in 20 minutes you get it for free and they put your picture on the wall) and think they're promoting obesity and a generally unhealthy lifestyle, but again I think they're intended to be eaten responsibly as a rare 'challenge' rather than a way of life.

By the sound of it, angle grinders are far more dangerous than a fry-up, even one which looks like this:

LOL yeah I feel hungry every time I post. I'll definitely have to change my picture after the Olympics.

To be fair the massive breakfast on a tray looks blooming awful - they've clearly gone for quantity over quality; everything just whacked on a griddle: pack of cheap sausages, pack of bacon, pack of black pudding, tin of beans, tin of tomatoes, box of eggs... They could have sacrificed some of it for a few hash browns and some fried bread, maybe even some potato waffles, varied the way the eggs are cooked (some fried, some scrambled)...
